The Longfeather is larger and stockier than the average Peachfaced Lovebird and possesses quite vibrant coloring. Chicks in the nest of a Longfeather pair may vary in size. Some might be large 'true' Longfeathers while some might be smaller, referred to as 'Intermediates'.
Compared to our other Peachfaced Lovebirds, some of the first noticeable differences are that Longfeathers have more intense coloring, a wider upper mandible, are broader across the chest, and have larger feet and thick legs.
More to come about Longfeathers soon!! Visit the ALBS Picture Library for more pictures.
